Patina Patina PatinaMiller was the lead actor in Stephen Schwartz's celebrated 1972 musical "Pippin" at Broadway. The Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" in addition to starred Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the other stars. Patina gave her unique contemporary spin on the award-winning Ben Vereen's part and managed to master the Fosse moves that are so important to the show. Patina earned a Tony Award for Best Performance of an Actress in the Leading Role within a Musical as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and also Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the performance. Her previous roles included the one as the Leading Player in the American Repertory Theater production of "Pippin" during the month of the month of December 2012 through January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
