Mischa Barton

Barton has been in the theater, film and television. She is American-born and British. In the Lincoln Center in New York City Barton made her debut on stage in Tony Kushner's Slavs! James Lapine's Twelve Dreams was her first role. Her acting debut came in her appearance as a cameo on All My Children. In the Nickelodeon cartoon series KaBlam!, she also voiced one of the characters. Between 1996 and 1997, she was the voice of one of the characters from Nickelodeon's animated TV show, KaBlam! She played the lead on the television drama Lawn Dogs (1997) alongside Sam Rockwell, marking her first significant acting performance. In 1999, she starred in M. Night Shyamalan's psycho-drama The Sixth Sense and the romantic comedy movie Notting Hill. In 1999, she also was in the Pups series, an indie crime drama. Barton was Evan Rachel Wood's love interest on ABC's Once and Again in 2001 and also in the independent film Lost and Delirious in 2001. On the Fox drama The O.C.'s 2003-2006 seasons, Barton performed the role of Marissa Cooper. She won two Teen Choice Awards for the performance. Barton's role in the 2003 season of the O.C. became a household name. Entertainment Weekly even named Barton"The Year's "It Girl. Since then, Barton has acted in the dramatic Closing the Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough, as well as in the comedy St Trinian's and Assassination of a High School President.
